Chelsea star Kante reacts to Leicester fans who booed him
N’Golo Kante admits he was keen to be respectful towards Leicester City despite being booed by their fans in Chelsea’s 2-1 win on Saturday.
Spanish forward Alvaro Morata put the Blues in front before former Foxes star Kante increase Chelsea’s lead with a superb long-range shot in the second half.
And just as the France international was lining up his shot, a section of Leicester’s supporters began to jeer their former hero who played a major role in their Premier League title victory in 2016.
‘It is always special to play my old team,’ Kante told BBC Sport.
‘I had an amazing year here but when I come I try to win and today was important and I am happy to score.
‘It is always a pleasure to score but I keep it [my celebration] inside because I want to respect my old team.
‘It was a tough game. They had a lot of chances but we fight and had some chances but we won and that is the most important thing.’
